here's the "dirty little secret" of the 'progressives'...the reason they are such staunch advocates for welfare, subsidized housing, affirmative action, and quotas is threefold; first, to keep minorities, especially african-americans, dependent on them and on 'the big government plantation' and voting reliably democrat-second, because they truly don't believe non-whites have what it takes to succeed without the intervention of big brother...and third, to ease that liberal white guilt and maintain the illusion of moral superiority
