How long does saliva last?

Theoretically if someone were to take saliva 3 hours before a social gathering work,school sports ETC. Would they be in the right mind to do it? General knowledge states that saliva only lasts about 15 min but is there a burnout that will make you not able to function 1-3 hours later? For this question i am talking about x20.
